Winchester House
This family had recently moved into their forever home and although structurally it was perfect, it felt bland, unspecial and unloved. The house was painted top to bottom in magnolia, it had a really dated and tired kitchen, almost no storage and it simply lacked any soul or charisma.
We worked through ideas on colours and style, how best to stretch and use the budget and how we could incorporate recently acquired inherited items from a parental home. We mixed old with new, we acknowledged childhood memories through photo galleries, framed handwritten notes,
reupholstered favourite chairs and added pieces of furniture and adored prints alongside their own pieces. Alongside the comforting family memories about the house, there is now a sense that this is a fresh start for their own little family and a place to build new memories and stories.
“Josephine exudes talent, charisma and credibility. I initially approached her to chat through ideas for our main living areas, but it wasn’t long before I invited her to work on the whole house. Such was my admiration for her ability to take everything that was spinning around in my head and translate it into workable ideas for our forever home. I’m still moved by the transformation and Josephine’s talent for mixing vintage finds in with recent purchases and my much loved dog eared novels. She’s a strong project manager and handled the process sensitively, professionally and with such empathy and understanding. She’s added value to our home and saved me time and money. It was an absolute pleasure plotting and scheming alongside her and I didn’t want the journey to end”
